Largest Overland Wildlife Migration on Earth
An annual wildlife wonder occurs in Africa. Over one million wildebeest make approximately a 1,000-mile perilous journey looking to graze and find water. This 'systematic' natural migratory movement helps to keep the ecosystem in check.
Crossing some of the most iconic parks and reserves like the Serengeti and Maasai Mara, the wildebeest take a circular route between the countries of Tanzania and Kenya. While the wildebeest follow a route for sustenance, many are lost to predators that are also looking to find their fill. The wildebeest create a food chain effect that provides provision for others.
This mass overland movement is nature's wonder at work.
