Following the Nile

A Book of Endurance and Discovery

A former soldier who likes to 'take the road less traveled.' The journey that he undertook on foot was to follow the length of the Nile. Covering about 4,000 miles, crossing several countries, trudging through extreme weather conditions, hacking through forests, foraging for food, and camping in remote places are just some of the things he endured.

The book is intertwined with historical references to well known figures and past explorers. He visits a once favorite haunting ground of Winston Churchill and Ernest Hemingway.

The expedition leaves him with a sense of wonderment and reflection; on those that had previously walked in similar footsteps, the history makers like Alexander the Great who had once been in the region and the physical remains that tell of the things past.
