Today, we are more akin to inside life than the outdoors. 90% of our time is indoors, a clear imbalance on the indoor to outdoor ratio. Human development has evolved through its interaction with nature. We have an innate need for the natural environment. Being connected to nature has many positive outcomes in all aspects of life. The design of human spaces can play a central role in bringing the outdoors into the spaces we occupy. One way of doing this is called biophilic design. A method that mimics the outdoor environment and brings it into the indoor spaces.
